    Detailed Itinerary
    Tour Plan
    Day 1 - Arrival in Colombo
    We will pick you up at the airport and start our journey to Galkadawala Forest Lodge where you will be staying for 4 nights. On our way to the Forest Lodge, we will have a stopover at Athugala Rock, which provides a panoramic view of the ancient city of Kurunegala.
    After arriving at Galkadawala, you can relax in nature as well as take a walk in the lakes nearby for wildlife sighting & photography or just to enjoy the untamed beauty of rural Sri Lanka
    Day 2 - Sigiriya lion rock
    Explore the ancient kingdom of “Sigiriya”
    Day 3 - Polonnaruwa ruins
    Excursion in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, the second kingdom of Sri Lanka initiated in TBD. Great opportunity to learn about ancient history of the island as well as to appreciate the remarkable architecture and design in the Polonnaruwa era
    Day 4 - Dambulla cave temple
    Largest cave temple of Sri Lanka. This guided tour would be a great window to Sri Lankan history. We will also provide a village tour where you will get a snapshot of untamed Sri Lankan village life
    Day 5 - Relax at gampola
    We will be transitioning to the next phase of the tour to the foothills of the hill country. Three nights will be spent at the beautiful Ellerton Bungalow.
    Day 6 - Knuckles mountain range
    Excursion to the biodiversity hotspot as well as a mountain village tour
    Day 7 - Kandy heritage walk
    Stroll through the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. Plenty of history and cultural heritage to observe and enjoy the Kandy food scene
    Day 8 - Adventures in Ella
    Enjoy the world famous Ella Train ride to the town of Ella. Waterfall hunting in and around Ella in the afternoon.
    Day 9 - Nuwara Eliya
    Strolling through the streets of “Little England” reminds of the British Colonial rule spanning the 19th and 20th centuries. World famous Ceylon Tea tasting would be a pleasant experience after a day of exploring.
    Day 10 - Udawalawa national park
    Half day safari at Udawalawa National Park where large herds of elephants, peacocks, spotted deer, freshwater crocodiles and plenty of bird species can be observed. Latter part of the day will be spent touring nearby villages
    Day 11 - Yala national park
    Continuation of Safari at Sri Lanka’s most famous National Park - Yala. Sri Lanka leopard, Sri Lanka sloth bear would most likely be seen in this tour.
    Day 12 - Galle Dutch Fort
    Tour of the Fort and the historical city of Galle.This unique place combines European architecture with Sri Lankan elements which makes the fort and the surrounding areas of the city an UNESCO World Heritage City.
    Day 13 - Colonial Colombo
    Tour through the busy yet colorful streets of buzzling Colombo looking for Colonial buildings. Will get a great overview of the Portuguese, Dutch and English influences as well as other diverse cultural influences that made present day Colombo
    Day 14 - National museum
    Before concluding our tour around the island, we will pay a visit to the National Museum of Colombo where some of the nation's best past treasures are kept. We will drop you off at the airport with plenty of time to say goodbye in Sri Lankan style :)
